Lecture “Mid-century design in Sweden”
On January, 31, 2018, yet another lecture on design history took place in the Palisander gallery. This time Artem Dezhurko spoke about Swedish design of the middle of the 20th century. The lecture included a narration on the importance of Sweden in bringing ‘the international style’ to Scandinavia and the role of the decorative arts exhibition in Stockholm in 1930. The lecturer spoke about Carl Malmsten, Karl Bergsten, Axel Einar Hjorth, Axel Larsson, Bruno Mathsson, Yngve Ekström, and Joseph Frank, an Austrian designer who emigrated to Sweden.
