The Danish designer and interior decorator, Kurt Østervig belongs to the Danish Modern movement. He was educated as naval engineer and worked in the field of shipbuilding. In the late 1930-s he became interested in design. He was employed as designer by a large company E. Knudsen’s Studio and collaborated with Pedersen & Son, Bramin, Jason, Rolschau, Sibast, and Vamo. In 1947 Ostervig established his own design studio. He designed interiors of cruise ships, hotels and sanatoriums.
